Vaga Lume Association (VLA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 with the mission of creating opportunities for intercultural exchange through reading and writing, as well as promoting the empowerment of people and communities of the Brazilian Amazon.

About The Project

Vaga Lume Association operates in rural communities in the Legal Brazilian Amazon to create opportunities for cultural exchanges with the aim to promote the life in the Amazon region to the most industrialized areas of Brazil.

The VLA Net Project combines culture, education and environmental discussions to encourage intercultural dialogue between teenagers from Sao Paulo and rural communities in the Legal Amazon, expanding their perspectives of Brazilian reality and different cultural expressions in addition to creating awareness about environment preservation.
