FilmAid

Kenya

FilmAid uses film and other media to inform, educate and create opportunities for refugees and other communities in need.

About The Project

FilmAid’s screening series and filmmaker training project targets refugees and their host communities in refugee camps and urban areas across Kenya with the aim of easing ethnic, racial and cultural tension and conflict by creating opportunities for young refugees and non-refugees to express their stories.

These communities are plagued by tension and conflict, both at intra- and inter-community levels. By making and screening films on these issues, project participants are able to promote intercultural dialogue among their communities while also addressing critical issues around health and community development.
