About The Project
Inclusive Lens strengthens young people’s resilience to radicalization by countering digital disinformation, bias, and hate.
Across Pakistan’s Punjab Corridor, false and misleading content often spread through images and videos rather than text. A clip can be forwarded on WhatsApp and reshared long before anyone can verify it, and most fact-checking tools cannot read it.
Implemented by the Youth Development Foundation, Inclusive Lens closes this gap, responding on two fronts.
First, a multimodal, AI-powered WhatsApp bot detects deepfakes and recontextualized footage as they spread, and then delivers localized counter-narratives in Urdu.
The second component delivers “Peaceful Narratives” curricula into universities. Drawing on Sufi teachings of moderation and pluralism, it grounds peacebuilding in traditions of tolerance already rooted in the region.
To date, more than 95 young people have been trained in fact-checking, and campaigns have reached over 15,000 people. The next phase will engage 3,000 youth and reach 100,000 people online.
