About The Project
Elsa Marie D’Silva is the founder of Red Dot Foundation, based in India, and President of Red Dot Foundation Global, based in the United States of America. She created the technology platform, Safecity, which crowdsources personal experiences of sexual harassment and abuse in public across the globe and private spaces in India. Since its launch in 2012, Safecity has become the largest crowd map of its kind in India. She also co-founded The Gender Alliance, a cross-network initiative that brings together feminists to advance gender equality and equity goals.
Ms. D’Silva has participated in numerous networking, professional development and leadership activities that have strengthened the impact of her sexual violence prevention and advocacy efforts. She is a Women 7 Advisor under the Italian G7 Presidency as well as a Yale World Fellow, Reagan Fascell Democracy Fellow and BMW Foundation Responsible Leader.
Ms. D’Silva is an alumnus of the Stanford Draper Hills Summer Fellows Program, the US State Department’s Fortune Mentoring Partnership programme, Oxford Chevening Gurukul, and a Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth leadership programme. Red Dot Foundation was a recipient of the UNAOC Intercultural Innovation Hub in 2016.
