United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the BMW Group Host Second Capacity Building Workshop for Recipients of the 2014 Intercultural Innovation Award

Fundraising, leadership and interpersonal excellence, were the main focus of the second capacity building workshop for the recipients of the 2014 Intercultural Innovation Award. Hosted by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the BMW Group, the workshop took place in Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina, from the 8th to the 11th of April. It concluded with a field trip visit to Welcoming America, one of the awarded organization based in Atlanta that works to promote mutual respect and cooperation between foreign-born and U.S.-born Americans.

Strategic communication, planning and implementation were the main focus of a capacity building workshop for ten recipients of the 2014 Intercultural Innovation Award. Hosted by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the BMW Group, the workshop took place at BMW Group Headquarters in Munich, Germany from October 12 to October 17, 2014.

The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the BMW Group have announced the 11 project finalists for the 2014 Intercultural Innovation Award. More than 600 applications were received from over 100 countries in a highly competitive selection process. The final podium will be announced within the framework of the 6th Global Forum of the UNAOC in Bali, Indonesia. The official award ceremony will take place on 28 August and will be chaired by President Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, and Bill McAndrews, Head of Communications Strategy, Corporate and Market Communications, BMW Group, in the presence of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
