New app to tackle racism in schools

A web-based app that teaches eight to 10-year-olds about racism and discrimination will be available for use in primary schools from next month. The app, an initiative of the national charity All Together Now, leads users through various scenarios in which children could be excluded because of bias and stereotyping.

Zunächst war die Sozial-Plattform “Give Something Back to Berlin” dafür gedacht, Kontakte zu knüpfen und sich ehrenamtlich zu engagieren. Mit den Flüchtlingen sind zahlreiche weitere Projekte hinzugekommen. Jetzt wurde dieses Engagement mit einem Preis der UN ausgezeichnet.

Für ihr soziales Miteinander ist die Initiative am Dienstagabend im aserbaidschanischen Baku mit dem „Intercultural Innovation Award 2016“ ausgezeichnet worden.
