About The Project
While travel opens minds, it unfortunately remains a luxury for a privileged few. Safarni, however, brings travel adventures to all. Since 2012, Safarni facilitates workshops that allow children to immerse themselves in different cultures without leaving their neighborhoods. On these simulated trips, kids aged 8 to 12 connect with locals from around the world. In each country children discover dances, games, cuisine, meet local families and brainstorm solutions to social challenges. At the end of the week-long workshops “travelling” the world, children become “Ambassadors of Diversity” in their community.
Safarni’s innovative methodology is based on research and years of iteration. Intensive research with 100 program participants last year showed that Safarni increases openness towards diversity, as well as knowledge of other countries and cultures.
Safarni is based in Egypt but is made for all. Educators have been trained to facilitate Safarni in Berlin, Istanbul and Tokyo.
