About The Project
Since 2015, Schools of Peace has aimed to solve conflicts, prevent violence and promote a culture of peace through art and culture. This program provides workshops on music, theater, screen printing and photography and has benefited hundreds of vulnerable students.
By visiting the Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen and witnessing the historical and cultural exhibits, hundreds of young people learn about the structural causes that foster inequality and social exclusion. Another component of the program targets teachers by including them in workshops where they acquire knowledge on how to prevent violence, to which they apply to their classes.
Moreover, dozens of young people participate in workshops on human rights, using social networks and audiovisual production, which have been screened in film forums. This has strengthened youth leadership and allowed them to promote informed and responsible citizenship.
