About The Project

Fundación CONSTRUIR promotes the intercultural dialogue between judicial authorities and indigenous people, to enable a shared recognition of both systems of conflict resolution through the development of a multicultural vision of law. Within this shared vision will be a special emphasis on respect for human rights, eradication of violence against women and children, and promoting the participation and rights of indigenous people.

The project seeks to provide alternatives for solving the problems of access to justice for people living in rural communities, particularly the indigenous population. This is based on local experience and community that exists in the peaceful resolution of conflicts, while respecting human rights and the need to establish links between state justice systems and community justice in the context of best practices and implementation of procedures for coordination between jurisdictions. In this sense the project will have three components. The first is the training and sensitization of plural justice actors. Secondly, it advocates for plural justice. Lastly, it seeks to develop best practices, organizational capacities and monitoring.
