About The Project
Inclusive Intercultural Education for Social Cohesion project empowers and equips young leaders to become facilitators of intercultural dialogue in real and digital virtual communities of northern Myanmar. Diverse people in the country have been facing a spectrum of challenges from inherited political conflict to a lack of respect for rights and a lack of inclusive education and social cohesion.
This project aims at enhancing intercultural understanding by using social media in different indigenous languages. Kachinland College inspires young leaders from different ethnic, linguistic and religious backgrounds in northern Myanmar to embrace diversity and become facilitators of intercultural dialogue by equipping them to become proficient in IT literacy, photography and video making skills. The young leaders live under one roof for at least 6 months and serve together as volunteers by reaching out to youth in villages and towns. The young leaders then share their improved intercultural knowledge to wider youth audiences via social media in various platforms.
