About The Project
Surakarta Space Shaper, developed by Kota Kita, a non-governmental organization based in Surakarta (Solo), Indonesia, promotes democratic and participatory approaches to urban development to improve cities and communities.
The programme focuses on preparing children to be at the forefront of designing child-friendly and inclusive cities, envisioning them as future urban leaders capable of making impactful decisions for their communities.
The programme emphasizes the importance of intercultural understanding in fostering urban citizenship, encouraging children to respect and incorporate diverse cultural perspectives into their active participation. Through a series of training sessions, the young participants will enhance their knowledge, skills, and experiences to enable them to play a meaningful role in their communities and city development.
